I don’t get many chances to get out on the water by myself, but this trip reminded me just how much I enjoy crappie fishing. There’s something about it that takes you back to simpler times — light rods, a jig, and a bobber can be a real breath of fresh air. I was out for about two hours and caught 14 good-sized crappies. If you’ve never tried it, I highly recommend giving it a go. And if it’s something you already enjoy, now is the perfect time to get out there. Best wishes, Patrick

Walleye fishing has slowed. They are still being caught but it is more of a grind. Crappie and Blue Gill are being caught in numbers. Water temperatures has lowered and now is the time to catch a Musky on the Chain.
